Beautiful apartments for rent in the heart of Tuscany |
 |
La Poggiolaia is an elegant
hilltop farmstead, strategically positioned in the middle
of the Golden
Triangle - Florence, Siena and Pisa.
La Poggiolaia (literally "hill
of olives") takes its name from the vast groves of olive
trees that surround it in every direction, and will impress
its guests with stunning views of the gentle rolling hills
that lead to the ancient towers of San Gimignano. |
| The green-grey of olives blends with the dark green of cypresses,
creating a spectacular show of colours. Our guests are free
to stroll through the olive groves and adjacent vineyards,
and sample the Chianti wines and olive oil produced by the
family-owned farm. |
Villa
La Poggiolaia has 4 comfortable, elegant apartments and a lovely
Capanna - a former barn transformed
into a characteristic country house.
Every window of each villa
lodging produces an incomparable view of the surrounding
landscape.
Each apartment has been meticulously renovated and personally
furnished by the owners with precious original art and
antiques in combination with all modern conveniences.
Amenities include
air conditioning (although you'll rarely need it, as the
hilltop location allows for maximum circulation of Tuscan
breezes)
and a magnificent Mediterranean style swimming pool with
roman steps, perfect for an impromtu wine tasting or wiling
away
late summer afternoons with a favorite novel. |
 |
La Poggiolaia is the perfect
place for an unforgettable vacation. At walking distance
there are
a family-owned Tuscan Restaurant, a mini-market, and one
of the oldest churches of the region.
Just a few miles down the
hill there is Certaldo
Alto, the picturesque, walled medieval
hilltop town renowned for being the birthplace of the poet
and writer Giovanni Boccaccio, the author of the Decameron.

For longer day trips
